The language of our Dutch translators

Worth knowing: The roots of the language of our Dutch translators lie in the West Germanic language family. In this context, Dutch can be seen primarily as an evolution of Lower Franconian, which from the 14th century gradually expanded towards the northwest and thus into the area of today's North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony. Further developed by local dialects and dialects, the Lower Rhenish language first emerged, which mixed with Nordic language influences in the area of today's Netherlands. The proximity to the Francophone area of today's Belgium and France, as well as - via the sea route - to Anglo-Saxon, have had a decisive influence on the Dutch language. Modern loan words are primarily from English, while older vocabulary and the basic grammatical structure are more likely to be from German.
